Ireland Plans To Close Embassy To Vatican

The foreign minister said Ireland was under financial pressure as it tries to slash spending after an international bailout last year. The country denied that deteriorating relations with the Catholic Church played a role in the decision. Embassies to Iran and Timor Leste were also slated to be closed.
