'Nightmare' Scenario: Hurricane Menaces East Coast

Hurricane Irene has weakened slightly to a Category 2 storm as it approaches the East Coast. The new hurricane warning area now extends from North Carolina's coast, northward to Sandy Hook, N.J., which is just south of New York City.
